The last time a human landed on the moon was back in the 1970s. Why haven't there been any manned moon missions since? I understand that the US deemed them less important after winning the race to the moon and they shifted the money to other areas of government spending. But why didn't other nations or space agencies pick it up? It seems like interest in the moon and further research on it suddenly stopped globally, despite technology making progress like never before, and was only picked up again in more recent years.
