The space shuttle Orbiter Enterprise (OV-101) was the first US shuttle constructed. It was rolled out in September 1976. It was used for ground testing and subsonic drop test flight testing only. Original plans were to convert it into a spaceworthy Orbiter but that did not happen. After the Space Shuttle Program ended in 2011, Enterprise was placed in a museum in New York.
