True, but in the specific case of a gas tank, flow rate or $\Delta P / \Delta T$ can provide a pretty good indication. If that value deviates significantly from the expected value, it's a safe thing to conclude that something is happening that probably shouldn't be happening which deserves human attention, even if $P$ is within reasonable tolerance spans. | |
