May 22, 2022 at 23:31 comment added Russell Borogove If you're not responsible for the run of downvotes on multiple questions that I've received over the last two days, I retract my implication. As for the other answer, you are more than welcome to constructively set up a natural-light photo demonstrating the phenomenon, and post it as answer. I might even upvote it. I'm more or less retired from investing time in answering questions on the site.
May 22, 2022 at 23:11 comment added No Nonsense Aha, so I am to understand that you are alluding to your perceived unfairness of me having voted down that other answer of yours that uses flawed setup with artificial lighting. If it is the case, then you are more than welcome to prepare your setup, re-shoot the photo of it illuminated by direct sunlight, and update your post -- then I will be more than happy to retract the downvote. Nota bene, it would be much more clear to me if you stated your objections in a more direct, and less passive manner. Cheers.

May 22, 2022 at 22:04 comment added No Nonsense of your response, however, fills me with a bit of optimism and hope. Cheers.
May 22, 2022 at 22:04 comment added No Nonsense I see that you are getting snarky in the second half of your response. I am puzzled as to why you have chosen going with such a line of rhetoric, considering that I haven't even voted this particular answer down at the first place, and that my original comment was not criticism of your answer but instead criticized poor voting ethics admitted to by another user. I am also not convinced that the supposedly most reputable user advising what would basically amount to targeted downvoting, even if only sarcastically, is a desirable thing. The first part {continues}
May 22, 2022 at 21:19 comment added Russell Borogove @user47149 Having frequently commented "upvoted for XYZ", I can assure you that it's almost never the sole reason for an upvote. But the good news is you can correct this injustice by downvoting just 370 more of my answers on this site!
May 22, 2022 at 21:14 comment added No Nonsense All power to you if you wish so. What I do oppose is people voting up just for the fact of images being of Lego. I have nothing against the usage of Lego images itself.
May 22, 2022 at 21:10 comment added Russell Borogove @user47149 I've been wanting to redo this post with all-Lego images. Getting mighty tempting.
May 22, 2022 at 16:17 comment added No Nonsense @DylanSp If the reason for you to vote up was indeed the photo of Lego spaceship, then I would strongly suggest visiting the help center and getting familiar with what the purpose of voting is. It is not supposed to be a mechanism similar to FB likes, but one of quality control; frivolous upvoting based on irrelevant and superficial features like photo of Lego model, or photo of a cat, are a misuse that messes up with that quality control system, and your comment is an admission to that.
